Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor - Pulp & Paper

This posting is for multiple positions based in British Columbia.  Typically working a 5 & 2 schedule (Monday to Friday – 8 hour days) which may vary depending on client requirements.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be accountable for strong and efficient maintenance planning that follows corporate safety and environmental policies.

Identify and follow all corporate policies, standards and procedures for environment, health and safety.

Ensure compliance to all relevant corporate policies and standards including the management of change (MOC) process and maintenance business processes and provide input into the development of area-specific procedures and standards.

Utilize the computer maintenance management systems for planning work.

Perform risk assessments and incorporate risk mitigation in the maintenance plans.

Quality Assurance/Quality Control.

Develop, implement and maintain maintenance standards and procedures to ensure efficiency and performance of mill equipment.

Lead team meetings and trainings, identify safety, environmental, quality & production issues.

Handle employee issues, build teamwork, provide team and individual feedback.

Supervise the maintenance team and promote safe work practices.

Coordinate and plan maintenance work to ensure reliability of equipment with keeping safety and budget in mind.

Minimum Qualifications

5 - 10 years of experience working in Pulp & Paper as a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor.

5+ years of experience supervising unionized trades workers.

Mechanical trades certificate, college diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

Working knowledge of SAP as a material management system.

Effective communicator with the ability to develop positive working relationships.

Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to make decisions with integrity and support company objectives and policies.

Ability to effectively manage time, problem solve and meet deadlines.
